In 2024 we have reintroduced our Junior Firefighter Program and have added our recruit firefighter in to the program. Our Junior Firefighter program is for boys and girls age 15-17 that are interested in becoming a fire fighter. Our recruit firefighters are men and women 18 years of age and older that are members of the department but have not yet completed the fire academy. This program is an introduction to the fire service and the beginning step to a career in the fire service. Members in the program are taught the skills of the fire service following a similar curriculum as the Massachusetts Fire Academy. Our recruit fire fighters benefit from this introduction to the fire service as a great preparation for the Mass Fire Academy. Members of the program train on Saturdays and additionally attend the departments weekly Wednesday night training.
